The Bengal Internship Award provides a stipend to students completing an unpaid/underpaid internship related to their future career goals while attending Buffalo State. The stipend covers expenses related to unpaid/underpaid internships, including housing, food, transportation, professional attire, and other incidental costs and expenses.


  • Current Buffalo State student, undergraduate or graduate, in good academic standing.
  • Must have completed at least 2 consecutive semesters at Buffalo State, preference given to upperclass and graduate students.
  • Secured an unpaid/underpaid internship at an approved organization. 
  • Internship must be a minimum of 120 hours worked over the course of at least 4 weeks. Internship must be completed during the Summer Session before the start of the fall semester.

Complete the online application, which includes:

  • Personal Info (e.g., name, banner, major, class, year, graduation, phone, email, and GPA)
  • Statement of interest: Why are you completing this internship?  Explain how this internship will help you reach your career goals.  
  • Budget information (housing, transportation, food, technology)
  • Internship Location
  • Updated Resume
  • Complete the online application.
  • A selection committee will review applications and select recipient(s)
  • All applicants will be notified
  • Selection committee can award a maximum amount of $2,000 based on the application.
