  1. What was your experience like searching for and securing an internship/part-time/full-time job/community involvement during the pandemic?
    • In my experience, it has been difficult searching for employment during the pandemic. I have lost roles I held on campus due to COVID and that was difficult because these were things (roles) I really loved. However, I contacted the CAPE and they supported me and waived the anxieties I had by making me aware of the many opportunities there are.
  2. Share any accomplishments, successes, positive experiences during your experience.
    • I have been prepared for my future in many positive ways. I understand what has to be done in and out of the work place. I also have obtained skills and experiences that will help me to thrive in the workspace.
  3. In what ways did the Career and Professional Education Center (CAPE) help in your preparation/search? (workshops, event, 1-on-1 services, BengalLink/other resources)
    • The CAPE has helped me in my search and preparation in many ways. For example, I have done mock interviews with CAPE professionals to advise me on how to prepare for important interviews. My resume has been revised and edited from professionals that know what resumes are supposed to look like. I have received consultation on changing majors and I also have received general advice about future career choices I should make based on my major and interests! Another task they helped me with was creating a professional profile on LinkedIn and explained how to navigate it to get the best out of the network. It has all been extremely helpful and beneficial to my future.
  4. Words of wisdom you would like to share with other students?
    • I would advise students that during this process you to will need to work hard and have faith. It’s difficult but remember you aren’t alone. We are all fighting through this pandemic together but there are so many resources at our finger tips. It’s all about seeking opportunities, ask questions, gaining connections, and utilizing them! You got this. I would also recommend reaching out to the Career Development Center. I have been making appointments with them since my freshman year and I don't believe I would be as prepared as I am now for post-graduation if I hadn't been so involved with this department.
  5. Desired career plans after graduation?
    • I am currently a Psychology and Creative studies major and I am starting my Master’s program in the fall for Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. I love administrative work and striving with the student body. My desired career path is to be an activist and advocate for all people in all (different) populations both inside and outside the academic world.
  6. Would you like to include your email address to be featured on our website? (for future outreach and connections with other students and employers)
