Choose a Career or Major

• Review career information by major and topic.
• Check out the "Careers In..." series and Candid Career videos to find out what you can do with your major.
• Use our online career exploration program: Focus.

Gain Valuable Experience

• View part-time and summer jobs, internships, volunteer, and work-study opportunities using BengalLink.
• Take a service-learning course (Find information about such courses on CCE's website) and participate in Buffalo State University sponsored community service activities including Alternative Spring Break programs.

Prepare for a Job Search

• Attend one of our workshops: Resume Writing, Cover Letter Writing, Job Searching, Interviewing, and Using LinkedIn.
• Make an appointment for resume or cover letter review with a career counselor or drop in for assistance during our weekly hours.
• Conduct a practice interview with a career counselor.
• Get information on successful job searching and potential employers.

Select a Graduate School

• Attend Graduate & Professional School Fair to discuss programs and admission requirements with school representatives and make personal connections.
• Find information to assist you in researching and applying to graduate and professional schools, including scholarships, fellowships, and writing personal statements.

Find a Job or an Internship

• Come to our annual job fairs which include: Part-Time Job & Internship Fair, Job and Internship Fair, Western New York Career & Internship Fair, and Teacher Recruitment Days.
• Current job and internship listings, including local and national full-time, part-time, summer, volunteer, internship, and work-study vacancies, may be viewed in BengalLink.
• Make your resume available to employers.
• Find potential employers using CareerShift, a job search portal including access to an extensive and up-to-date employer and job opportunity database.
• Participate in on-campus recruitment and employer presentations, with local and national employers conducting interviews and who provide information about job opportunities.
• Maintain a reference file in the center containing your letters of reference.
